I kicked off my musical adventure with a Bachelor of Science in Instrumental Music Education from Ball State University in 1998. I had the absolute joy of studying clarinet with the incredible Dr. Caroline Hartig, and I also got to dive into percussion with Pamela Nave and Dr. Erwin Mueller. After graduation, I spent 11 fun-filled years playing clarinet with chamber groups, bands, and orchestras, teaching sectionals at middle and high schools, and building a bustling studio of around 40 private students. But the clarinet bug bit me again, and I couldn’t resist the call to return to school. I pursued a Master’s Degree under the brilliant Dallas Tidwell at the University of Louisville. I’m beyond proud of my time learning from him and the wonderful clarinetists in his studio—memories I’ll always cherish. These days, I’ve switched gears a bit and work as a web developer in the marketing department of a local company. But my love for music hasn’t dimmed! On nights and weekends, you might catch me at a rehearsal or concert with the Louisville Concert Band or Louisville Winds. 🎶
